Profile

As the administrator of this site, I didn’t even know the word meditation until June 2006.

In June 2006, I was temporarily ordained for the first time at a meditation temple in Yangon, Union of Myanmar, where I was taught primitive Buddhist meditation for the first time in my life. At the time, I was an engineer working for an IT company, so I took advantage of my refreshment vacation to travel abroad.

I met a Sayadow who was U Jatila, a wonderful meditation teacher, also Professor of PALI, and that was when my outlook on life reached a turning point.

In 2007, I quit my job and became a monks in Myanmar.

I think it was about three years before I went to Myanmar, that I was participating in “Zen” at a Japanese Zen temple starting around 4 a.m. on weekends. This is a large temple in Yamanashi Prefecture, where the tomb of Sengoku warlord Takeda Shingen is located.

My weekend routine included morning Zen, cleaning the temple grounds, and reading sutras. One day, while browsing the internet, I found out that there was a Myanmar language class in Tokyo, and I studied there for three months. For the first time, I saw the “ဒါပေ (dappei)” a bowl used by Myanmar- bhikkhu to give alms, which was kept as a decoration in the classroom.

It’s already been 20 years since then.

I have practiced meditation in countries such as Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, and other Asia area. The cumulative amount of time I have meditated is over 20,000 hours.

The only meditation method I have practiced is the one described in NIKAYA, the Buddha’s sermon. Of course, I also perused the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible, and the Al Koran. However, NIKAYA was the only one that was systematically organized and preached a step-by-step methodology. In other words, the meditation method taught by Buddha is the only oldest meditation method in existence, and NIKAYA, especially Majjhima NIKAYA, is nothing more than a meditation manual.

However, Majjhima NIKAYA, which consists of 152 sutra, is difficult for ordinary people to understand. It took me two years to read the entire volume and understand half of it. Although I now have a complete understanding of all the volumes, it would be difficult for someone who is new to meditation or who has experience with other forms of meditation to obey Majjhima NIKAYA. Because Majjhima NIKAYA is preached for only bhikkhu who aims at enlightenment.

For Next Generation

I’m considering that issue carefully about how teaching of the Buddha would survive in 100 years later. No other teacher but only one was ever found who so thoroughly mastered the methodology taught by the Buddha and achieved enlightenment. That master is vary extremely rare. (Myanmar has that master but other country have not meditation this correctly methods, so it perhaps will be under ppb1 per world population. )

People who are interested in meditation are probably people who think about true happiness. They might be holding some cause of daily life suffering for some reason.

Despite they wish instructors who knew correctly method, so they will find such getting the masters will difficult opportunity.

It is a good deed to allow these people to broadly experience the basic stages, which can be called the gateway to happiness which arise in disappear suffering or sadness , and it is by no means a bad thing even though other religious people or no religions. Because Buddha said “Coming and view”, it’s meaning “If you wish calm come in and meditate ”. If you have biases such as “Buddhism is not exist the God”, I will explain about the Gods2 and Devils3 after.

However, if you have the will to deeply explore the Buddha’s intentions, you have no choice but to leave the secular world and choose the path of monkshood.

Therefore, I will show you the meditation method extracted from Majjhima NIKAYA with the following guidelines.

Meditation anyone can do

Meditation that you can continue without getting tired of

Meditation practiced with the right mindset

This opportunity of good deeds, wish Devatta ca Brahma bless.
